-
Place
the NextReads logo prominently on your home page. If
this is not possible, include the path to NextReads in all
publicity. For example, say “From the home page, click on the ‘For
readers’ link to get to NextReads” or “Go to our home page and
scroll down to the NextReads link.” Use the
sample press release provided on the NextReads home
page. Customize it for your library and send it to your local
newspapers. A selection of
banners and logos are available here.
- Send the
sample email provided on the NextReads
marketing page to your staff. Make sure they understand the
service, can answer patron questions, and that they actively
promote NextReads.
-
Use the sample
patron flyer (also found on the NextReads
marketing page.
Customize
it for your library and ask staff at the circulation and reference
desks to hand it out to patrons. Place the flyer in your display
racks and near self-checkout stations too!
-
Talk about
NextReads at library programs. Distribute the
patron flyer
and
bookmark at programs.
-
Use the
bookmark template (found on the NextReads
marketing page)
to prepare NextReads bookmarks. Customize it with your library’s
branding and website. Ask the circulation staff to give each person
checking out materials a NextReads bookmark for a week or two.
-
Request
NextReads posters for your library by emailing us at
NextReads@epnet.com. Display posters prominently so patrons
will ask about this exciting new service!
-
Include a
NextReads
bookmark and/or
patron flyer
in each new
cardholder packet.
-
Place an article
about NextReads in the library’s print newsletter and the library’s
electronic newsletter.
-
Create your
own newsletter with titles that interest a specific group of
library users. Genealogists, book group participants, and
homeschoolers are just a few possibilities.
-
Place the
NextReads logo in several places on
your website. For example, in addition to being on the home
page, it can be placed on your readers’ advisory page, your
reference page, and your book group page.
-
Prepare a
NextReads book display. Include signup information, promotional
materials, titles featured in the newsletters, and the NextReads
poster in the display. If you have a window display area, place the
display there.
-
Use circulation
notices, whether print or electronic, to promote NextReads. Add the
lines “Looking for another book to read? Sign up for any of our 20
newsletters to have great reading suggestions emailed directly to
you."
-
Send an email about this exciting new service to a
targeted group of people whose email addresses you already have.
Some possibilities include your Friends Group, book club members,
local town/city/county employees, and library donors. Provide
details and signup information in the message.
-
Create a library
news and events newsletter to email to patrons using NextReads.
Promote the NextReads service in this newsletter.
-
Create a
brochure to promote NextReads. List details about each
newsletter in the brochure.
-
Request
NextReads logos in a variety of
resolutions for use on your website or in marketing materials by
contacting us at
NextReads@epnet.com. (please include the words Poster or Logo in
the subject line)
-
Use NextReads
newsletters to promote library events. Upcoming mystery author
event at your library? Include details in the NextReads Mystery
newsletter. Do you have a knitting group? Include details in the
Do-It-Yourself newsletter. Travelogue program? Promote it in the
Armchair Travel newsletter.
-
Promote NextReads
on your paper check-out receipts. Add “Ask about NextReads” in the
message space.
-
Discuss NextReads
at your next community group presentation. Some examples include
school visits, Rotary Clubs, Chambers of Commerce, and historical
societies. Bring NextReads bookmarks, flyers, and/or brochures to
distribute.
-
Print out copies
of the newsletters and make them available to patrons. We suggest
that you edit the text in the “Still looking for the right book?”
bar to say something like “This is just one of the 20 NextReads
newsletters available on [our library’s] website! Visit [opt-in page
URL] to subscribe and receive book recommendations via email.”
