The World Book Web is designed to make online knowledge more accessible and useful to students at all learning levels.  It’s a suite of online research tools that delivers the information your students need, including encyclopedia databases, primary source collections, pictures, audio and video, complemented by current magazine articles and related Web sites.  All databases are editor-screened for authenticity and age-appropriate content.

Our latest addition to the line, World Book Advanced, is designed to enhance learning by combining encyclopedia and primary source databases in a single, easy-to-use site.  Add to that maps, timeline builder, a citation builder, and a customized “My Research” tool—all packaged in a user-friendly interface specifically designed for more advanced researchers.

Now covering the needs of students from grade school to grad school, every site in the World Book Web is written in straightforward, age-appropriate language and loaded with features that make it easier for students of all ages to conduct academic inquiries and complete better work.

Encyclopedie Decouverte launched in 2008

Based on World Book’s Student Discovery Encyclopedia, Encyclopedie Decouverte is specifically developed for younger users who are native speakers and readers of French, as well as older students and adults for whom French is a second language.

Thousands of encyclopedia articles written by expert contributors, photos and illustrations, maps, diagrams, and editor-selected Web sites offer rich coverage of student’s research needs.

Bilingual features, including links from the French-language to English-language content, can be activated or turned off based on user’s needs.
